Q. Can I get the money today? A. Subject to the suitability and affordability of the loan we can provide your loan the same day.

Q. Will I still be able to get the loan if I have a less than perfect credit history? A. It is still possible for you to secure a loan on your car / vehicle despite a poor credit history. Logbook Lenders treat each loan application on its own merits – if we can’t find a loan that is both suitable and affordable for you, we will not suggest you proceed.

Q. Do you charge up-front fees? A. Never – we are not a broker, we lend our own money.

Q. What happens if I text MONEY to 80010? Will I have to unsubscribe? A. No – this is a callback service to save you money on call charges. Our friendly staff will call you back and guide you through our loan process.

Q. Do you charge a penalty for paying off early? A. As an approximate guide the cost of early settlement is the balance at the time plus two months interest.

Q. I don’t have a bank account – will I still qualify for a loan? A. Yes – we will ask you to prove your income and we will make sure you can afford the repayments.

Q. I am not a homeowner – do you only offer small loans to tenants? A. We do not judge you on your residential status – we look at your ability to repay and the value of the car.

Q. How do I make my payments? A. You can pay by debit card, standing order, bank payment or cash.

Q. How long do I have to repay? A. We offer a range of loan terms from 18 to 48 months and our staff will work out a payment plan that fits around your ability to repay.

Q. Are there any cheque cashing fees to get the cash? A. Absolutely not – we will lend you our own money which you can use straight away.

Q. I don’t have a car, what else do you lend on? A. Logbook Lenders will lend against vans, motorcycles, trucks and motor homes.

Q. I am self-employed, can I still have a loan? A. Logbook Lenders are happy to help the self-employed. We will need to see proof of your income to ensure you can afford the loan.

Q. Is there a Trade Association for logbook loan companies? A. Yes – the Consumer Credit Trade Association has a Code of Practice for logbook loans. Always make sure your lender is a member so you can trust them to treat you responsibly.

Q. What happens if I hit problems and can’t keep up the repayments? A. Contact our local staff as soon as possible so we can help you to make an alternative arrangement. We have many customers who have been with us for years – we all go through a bad patch at some stage and we will do everything we can to help you. Repossession is always a last resort for Logbook Lenders, but if you make no effort to repay or to contact us we may have to sell the vehicle to recover the loan. Remember: LATE REPAYMENT CAN CAUSE YOU SERIOUS MONEY PROBLEMS. YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP THE REPAYMENTS ON YOUR LOGBOOK LOAN.

Q. Can I keep my car while I am repaying the loan? A. Yes, you keep your car, we just hang onto the logbook – you can have this straight back as soon as the loan is repaid.

Q. What if I need to tax my car before the loan is repaid? A. You will still receive your road tax reminder as usual and you don’t need the logbook to renew your road tax, however we will usually release the car documents if you need them.
